Beginning the path of recovery from substance abuse often feels like wandering through a maze without an end in sight. However, amidst the struggles, rays of hope can unexpectedly shine through the darkness. Personally, my guiding light emerged through the practices of rockhounding, wire wrapping, and jewelry making. Immersing myself in the realm of nature's treasures, I uncovered a profound sense of tranquility and purpose. Each stone I unearthed revealed stories and beauty waiting to be brought to light. Through dedicated refinement of my skills, I found comfort in the harmonious art of crafting intricate pieces of jewelry. This newfound love not only served as a therapeutic outlet but also propelled my personal development and creative journey. With every finished piece, I step further away from the shadows of my past, embracing the boundless opportunities that await me on the path of growth, evolution, and self-exploration.
It all started with opals, when I saw an opal pendant at Grandfather Tree in the Redwoods of California on March 6, 2022 , 2 years into sobriety. The shimmering beauty of the opal captured my heart, but the price tag was out of reach. That moment ignited a spark within me to create my own version of that stunning piece. Now, two years into this incredible journey of self-discovery and creativity, I look back and feel grateful for how far I've come. The love and support from those around me have been my guiding light, encouraging me to keep pushing boundaries and exploring my potential. I am deeply thankful for everyone who has believed in me and supported me on this path. As I gaze ahead, I am filled with excitement at the thought of all the beautiful creations I have yet to bring to life.
